ABOUT THE FEDEX, E-MAIL, AND/OR PHONE CALL YOU RECEIVED FROM PROMOTION ACTIVATORS…..
Who are we? Promotion Activators, founded in 1978, is one of the country’s leading judging and administration companies. Most companies sponsoring sweepstakes and contest promotions hire third parties like us to ensure that their promotions are conducted fairly.
Why did we contact you? Your entry may have been drawn or judged to be a potential winner of our client’s promotion or there may be a question regarding an entry you submitted. “Potential” simply means that we need to confirm your eligibility (i.e. your age, residency, employment status, etc.) before we can declare you an official winner and award a prize.
Depending on the promotion, we may need to confirm your name, address, phone number, age, and/or place of employment. This information is not always collected at the time of entry and some prizes require a signed/notarized affidavit and release. In some cases, we may also request your social security number. Why do we need it? If your potential prize has an approximate retail value of $600 or more, the sponsor is obligated by law to send you a 1099 form and report it to the IRS.
