The SCOTTIES Family Field Trip Sweepstakes ran both on its own microsite as well as on the Scotties Facial Tissue page on Facebook. Entries were collected on both sites with a “Invite A Friend” feature that enabled entrants to receive up to 10 bonus entries if they invited friends to the sweepstakes who subsequently entered. The Grand Prize winner received a 5-day/4-night trip for five to their chose of one of 5 different destinations. Secondary prizes included 5 notebook computers.
The Facebook component of the Sweepstakes as well as the “Invite A Friend” feature created a viral campaign that was hugely successful. The destinations were all located in the U.S. and encouraged a “family” vacation with the notebook computers appropriate for family use whether for entertainment, business, or education.
