COPPA

COPPA or Children’s online privacy protection act is a federal law that protects children under the age of 13 from privacy violations on the internet.

How does this affect my promotion?

If you are running a promotion where the age of entry is 13 and older, you will have to comply with COPPA laws. COPPA requires owners of websites or online services to post privacy policies, offer parental notice of info practices and get consent from a parent or guardian if collecting personal info from children under the age of 13.
